When it comes to style and looking great there are three categories that women fit into. In the first category are those women who look great and they know it. They have put a lot of time and energy into finding the perfect look and they feel fabulous. In the next category you'll find women who know they could use a makeover. Of this group some will actually get a makeover and the others will never take the time. In the third category are those who have not really thought about how they look and are unaware of the impressions they make. These women are trying to move ahead but their look is stuck in a previous decade. They wear an outdated hairstyles, outdated lipstick, outdated eye shadow and outdated clothing. They have no idea that their image is holding them back. The third category can be damaging if the person's aim is to succeed at work, in business or the dating arena. For example, if you are looking for a new mate and keep attracting the same type (the type you don't want) then you can fix that problem by looking at the message your image is sending. 1. Style: Style can mean several things - how a person looks, the shape of a garment or a style of clothing such as funky, faddish, businesslike, casual, formal, etc. To look great you not only need to know which styles of clothing ( shape of the garment ) looks best on your body type but how your style fits into your daily activities. For example, you might like to dress feminine or funky but those styles will not work well in all situations. A funky style will work for leisure activities such as going out with friends but will not work well in a business situation. A feminine style works well on a romantic evening but will not help you land a new account. Take some time to discover your style and how it is working for you. 2. We-ight: Weight and body image is a huge issue with many women. Some announce that they will not to buy any new clothes until they have lost a certain number of pounds and others feel hopeless when it comes to getting to an ideal we-ight. Insofar as excess weight is responsible for health problems, it is necessary to be concerned. However, obsessing about a few pounds or the shape or size of a particular body part is wasted energy. Start right now to bring out your best features by wearing styles that flatter and feel more attractive. If you feel good about yourself others will notice and you will attract more of what you want. Stop hiding behind baggy clothes and dark, drab colors and show the beautiful you. 3. Quality Clothing: Before you spend another cent on another piece of clothing make sure it looks great on you and is quality. Two mistakes women make are buying cheap clothing because they can get more of it and buying an item because it's an excellent deal. It's not a deal if it isn't perfect and fits your wardrobe - it's just fattening your closet. This is not to say that you shouldn't buy clothing that is on sale. If it is an item that fits into your wardrobe, is the right color, the perfect fit and you would buy it at regular price then it's a good choice. 4. Wearing Black: Don't get into the habit of buying everything in black because you think black is slimming. If you do you will end up with a boring wardrobe and you will have to depend on your accessories to keep your look alive. If your wardrobe is mostly black now try bringing in a few light and bright colors. You can then think of adding different neutrals such as navy and brown. When you wear brighter colors not only will you feel better others will view you differently. 5. The Right Fit: There is nothing that will ruin your day and your look more than wearing ill-fitting clothes and shoes. Pants that are too tight will make you look larger. Skirts that are too short will make moving difficult. Jackets, blouses, tops and sweaters that are took tight look unprofessional. Shoes that are too high will not only be uncomfortable but will make walking awkward. Getting the right fit is very important when you want to stand out from the crowd and have a polished look.
