Is Your Mascara Creating the Look You Want by Sheila

If you're like most women, you want your eyelashes to look as long and full as possible without the clumps, flakes or the raccoon look. Whether you have long eyelashes or your eyelashes are short straight, the following mascara tricks and application tips will bring your eyelashes alive.

1.     Start by choosing the right wand. For short
lashes you'll want a narrow wand that will lengthen and separate. Fluffy, round brushes are better for volume and curl.

2.      Start with the top lashes of one eye and do
the other before coming back to the lower lashes of the first eye. This will give the lashes a chance to dry- but not dry completely. To avoid smudging the lower lashes use the tip of the wand to apply mascara.  Also, try brushing a little pressed powder below bottom lashes to stop smudging.

3.      To prevent smudging try waterproof or smudge
proof mascara. Waterproof mascara will work best to prevent smudging but daily use will cause your eyelashes to become brittle. Use it sparingly, for example, if you're going to be spending the day outdoors and know there's a chance your eyes will water.

4.      For thick, full lashes use a lengthening formula
followed by a volumizing formula.

5.      Match your mascara with your coloring. If your
hair and lashes are dark, choose black mascara.
If your hair and lashes are light use brown mascara.
Avoid blue mascara - it is not flattering.
